India Palace Reviews
I have been a regular at India Palace for about four years. I used to go to the other restaurant next door, Little India, but didnt think the food was that great....it was ok, and the place was always packed and the service was ok. One day I decided to go into India Palace when Little India was packed. It was very quiet that evening in India Palace, so I wondered why Little India was packed and this restaurant right next door wasnt. I quickly figured out that the people eating next door were getting the short end of the stick. India Palace had amazing food, and FRIENDLY and fast service. I came back again and again, introducing friends to the amazing food. I go every two weeks for dinner or lunch and now most of the staff knows me by name! They are so friendly and treat me so well. I have seen them be as friendly with other regulars as well. There is nothing better than an amazing meal with amazing and friendly service. I have probably eaten there close to 90 times since I discovered this Queen Street gem and I have never been disappointed!
Yesterday I came by India Palace for their authentic lunch buffet. I have been to over 10 Indian restaurants in the city and I have to say I was very impressed with the meal I had with my colleague. From the décor to the service to the food itself, India Palace ranks among the best in the city. The most important aspect of a good restaurant is, of course, the food. The India Palace buffet has many different dishes (I believe 25-30 items including the salads & desserts). There were a few dishes that need to be mentioned. The samosas tasted great. They were stuffed with potatoes, peas & some carrots. Flaky on the outside and delicious on the inside. I have had a number of different butter chicken dishes throughout the city. This place takes the cake. The butter chicken was the softest and most tender chicken I have ever tasted. It was served with only the best white meat available (unlike some other places that serve the dark meat in their butter chicken). It tasted like it should. The lamb vindaloo was exceptional. It had just the right amount of spice and the lamb was cooked perfectly. Their naan bread served as a great way to eat up all the sauces my plate accumulated as I piled several dishes on my plate at once. The saag paneer, chicken curry, shrimp curry & butter chicken sauces were all great. For all of you vegetable lovers, you will not be disappointed here. There are many vegetarian dishes available at the buffet that include: veggie pakoras, salads, chick peas, palak paneer, Aloo Gobhi Masala and more. I always go for a Mango Lassi when I visit an Indian Restaurant. The one at India Palace tasted great. It was very smooth, had a strong mango flavour & was an excellent compliment to Indian spices in all of the buffet dishes. I will certainly come back soon.
Recently I strolled past India Palace on Queen St. West and I figured I would stop by and sample their lunch buffet, as I had previously seen them on the MenuPalace.com directory. It was an intimate restaurant with a simple yet charming décor, but the service I received was both very friendly and professional. I have eaten at numerous Indian restaurants throughout Toronto, but India Palace has by far the most tender and delicious Butter Chicken dish that I have ever tasted. They offer roughly 20 to 30 different items and dishes, which are all very authentic. I recommend the Samosas, all their Curry dishes, but I also particularly enjoyed their Jumbo Prawn Masala, Beef Vindaloo and their Chicken Tikka Masala. The Naan Bread was very fresh and made for a great sponge to soak up all the wonderful flavours. I enjoyed a fresh and smooth tasting Mango Lassi, which was one of the better ones I have experienced. I would highly recommend India Palace on Queen St. West, as this restaurant is definitely a hidden gem.
